Artistic Statement
As a dance artist, I choose to study the stories of a person’s life, emphasizing beauty, development, philosophy and relationship found within the quiet and intimate moments of one’s history. I am inspired by people who find themselves at a vulnerable place in life and I strongly feel the responsibility to preserve their stories and specific ideologies.
Currently, I work closely with the memoirs of survivors of the Holocaust to tell their stories in a form other than literature. Using survivors’ stories, I focus on messages of selflessness, sacrifice and preservation to highlight these messages in all possible ways. It is my responsibility as an artist to preserve, share and remember their stories.
